Fleur came to us at 14 weeks . She had been returned to her breeder because there were concerns about her gait and her behaviour. Fleur needs an experienced home and would not be suitable as a first dog.
She had a strange walk, did not seem to see as she should and in general was strange. Our vet could confirmed that Fleur had problems but could not tell us what they were. We took Fleur to see an opthalmic specialist who gave her a full check up and found no problem with her eyes.
She has been back to our vet again with the same result. We do know that Fleur is not quite right but do not know why. It is likely to be neurological.
Fleur is a wonderful dog who is going to be a big girl. She does have some guarding issues and it is essential that time is taken to work on this. Our Training Adviser will be on hand to give suggestions and tips on dealing with this but because we do not think Fleur should be homes with small children and if with another dog they must be laid back and un-confrontational.
Fleur needs some time and work but is a loving , friendly girl who will reward her new owner over and over again. Her health issues may cause a problem later in life or they may never be an issues but someone wishing to adopt would need to understand that their are no guarantees one way or the other.
