Hendrix my last ex battery hen passed away sometime during the night.
This isn't a sad post though. She had 2 happy years free ranging in my back garden, and actually learnt that life wasn't about being cramped in a cage with othr birds no space to move or sit down no light and a horrible smell. She had the chance to flap her wings and feed from our hands have a lovely dust bath and bath in the sun. She also managed to dig up most of my garden and no worm or bug was ever safe while she was patroling. She will be missed greatly and our back garden will be a much duller place without her presense.
